Location: Samaria Gorge is situated in the White Mountains of Crete, Greece, in the region of Chania.

Length: It is one of the longest gorges in Europe, stretching approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) from its starting point at Xyloskalo to the village of Agia Roumeli on the Libyan Sea coast.

Natural Beauty: Renowned for its breathtaking scenery.
Samaria Gorge features steep cliffs towering up to 300 meters (984 feet) high, lush vegetation including pine forests and rare Cretan flora.

Wildlife: The gorge is home to diverse wildlife, including the endangered Cretan wild goat, known as the "kri-kri," as well as various bird species, reptiles, and insects.

Trail Difficulty: The hiking trail through Samaria Gorge is moderately challenging, with uneven terrain and some steep sections. It typically takes about 4 to 6 hours to complete the hike, depending on one's pace and fitness level.
