It’s finally this time of the year in Rethmyno town. Carnival is a big celebration in our city. Everybody wears  fancy and colorful costumes, celebrate, sing and dance. Many people from Heraklion and Chania town come to visit Rethymno due to the carnival mood. But also many people from all over the world.

The most amazing part is the Sunday of Carnival where the parade takes place in town of Rethymno.  Creating  unique moments for all in the town. Old town, old harbor and the castle of Fortezza are full of people who enjoy the carnival mood. Carnival in Rethymno town takes place many years before, since 1899. It is a tradition where the citizens take care to keep alive. The most amazing after parade is the burning of Rethymnon  Carnival King. It is a tradition that lasts many years.
